Still on like raw donkey kong

I have to say, this last 2 weeks has definitely brought me to feeling better than I have felt and looked in many years! Mostly juicing, salad with low fat raw dressing, & fruit (not too much)..nuts and seeds to a minimum. The detox is slow and steady, as is the weight loss. But my energy levels are through the roof! I'm super stoked, super grateful! I plan on continuing along until I feel I need to do otherwise. It's summer so the lightness is a welcome feeling.
Ginger and Lemon really hit the spot right now. A typical am juice consists of 1-2 lemons, a decent size (like 2" or more) of ginger, an apple, a cuke or part of, some celery, a few leaves of green (collard, kale, etc), and a few carrots. Some days I am adding a piece of beet, beet greens, or dandelion to make my liver smile.
To Mamey or not to Mamey, that is an easy question to answer..If you haven't been acquainted, Mamey Sapote is nothing short of a dessert. Creamy, sweet, rich..kind of like if a sweet potato could be a fruit with a cherry and vanilla finish. I simply take a ripe fruit and process until smooth with a bit of lemon, and layer it with other tropical fruits like banana slices, diced ripe mango, some berries, and a nut crumble that is as easy as pulsing 4-6 soft pitted dates in a food processor, adding a cup of walnuts, 1/2 cup shredded coconut and pulsing again until fairly small but coarse. It will stick together if you pinch or press it, other wise its a great crumble. A pinch of salt is totally optional. Layers of said crumble in your Mamey Parfait will not go unnoticed..Delicious! Pic to follow, soon!
P.S. Mamey season is almost over, so don't delay. I have seen them at Publix where I live, and other sources include awesome ethnic fruit/veggie markets.

Home

Wow, I can't believe how timeless life really is, and how something like eating a raw food diet can instantly make me feel so much better, providing the comfort we often describe we attain when we are "home"..
After a long hiatus, which you can read about in the previous post, I'm happy to share, I've been exclusively juicing and eating live foods for about a week. I'm elated! I'm thankful to be sharing the journey, with beautiful friends and family, making an even more profound and heartfelt impact on my
Health and Well Being!
